Wedding Frequent Questions

Wedding Frequent Questions

  • Why book a wedding photographer? Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. Wedding photography is a historical and artistic documentation of the day you began your lives together… a memorable investment. A true professional will be able to preserve those precious moments in a way that tells your story.
  • What kind of albums do you offer? We offer flush mount magazine style books for weddings and engagements. It is the latest artistic trend in wedding photography. We would love to invite you to come view the albums at our studio.
  • Do I get engagement portraits with my package? Some of our packages include an engagement session and an online engagement gallery to share with family and friends, and the high resolution images download with full printing and web rights to all of the images, along with our engagement guest book. The engagement session is a perfect time for me to get to know your photography style.
  • What is an engagement guest book? This is a creative spin off from a traditional guest signature book. It is a hand crafted album which contains photos from the engagement session and serves as an album as well as your guest book.
  • Will I have printing rights to my portraits? Yes, and you will also receive a release form giving you the authority to print your portraits anywhere.
  • How long does it take to receive my portraits? Normally we ask for you to allow¬†60 days for your download link to be ready. If other items are included in your package, your finished products will be ready once you have viewed the proofs and agreed you are ready for them to go to print.
  • Do you design the album? I create an initial design so it’s not overwhelming and you get to see the product through fresh eyes. Once you’ve viewed it you are welcome to make changes.
  • Can you take the family portraits before the wedding? Yes, and I highly recommend this to everyone. The most effective way to get your family and wedding party portraits made in a timely manner is to have everyone ready an hour to two hours before the ceremony. Any portraits involving the bride and groom together can be taken after the ceremony.
  • Do you stay for the reception? It depends on how much time your package consists of. I work with you to set a schedule that will meet your needs.
  • Will you photograph a wedding that requires no flash photography? Yes, I understand the need for certain ceremonies to be free from flash distraction. However, this can sometimes cause limitations for any photographer, and I do have other recommendations if this is the case. Our competitively priced packages are so valuable because their quality is optimal. To achieve these results, I’ll work with you and the venue to find an arrangement that is comfortable for you.
  • Do you travel? Yes, I do travel. There may be a traveling fee involved, but this depends on how far your location is. This fee only involves the actual amount it takes for me to travel.
  • What kind of training do you have? As a business, Joanie Clay Photography is always involved in training for the latest techniques for our digital trade. I have ten years of photographic experience and training. My award winning work has been published in local newspapers and other local media.
  • Do you have a blog? Yes, and checking out a photographer’s blog is an excellent way to measure consistency with their work from week to week. You can click on the Blog link to visit!
  • What makes you different from other photographers? In every photograph taken I am letting you into my world, into the things that without an artist would remain unseen. One unique aspect of my work is that I love to have fun and connect with my clients! My creative passion shows in my work, and is inspired by you. Every wedding day tells a story in the photos that I take. What will yours say?
